Mental Health Support
At Glowing Growth, we apply ABA strategies to support learners facing mental health challenges, developing individualized plans to address their unique needs. Often, we also integrate Strategies from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) techniques to provide a comprehensive approach, promoting resilience, emotional regulation, and well-being.
Cognitive-Behavioural Strategies
Our mental health services include the use of CBT-based strategies, which helps learners identify and modify thought patterns that may contribute to anxiety, stress, and other challenges. By applying structured, evidence-based methods, we assist learners in recognizing unhelpful thoughts, shifting their perspectives, and developing practical coping strategies. This approach empowers learners to face their challenges with increased confidence and reduce negative emotional responses.
Acceptance and Commitment Training (ACTr)
we use the principles of ACT to help learners build psychological flexibility by embracing their experiences without judgment. Through ACT-based techniques, learners develop skills to observe and accept difficult thoughts and feelings, rather than avoiding them. This process encourages meaningful behaviour change, helping learners focus on their values, manage stress, and pursue personal growth, even in the face of challenges.
Face-Your-Fear
At Glowing Growth, our Facing Your Fears program is designed to support children in managing anxiety through structured Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques, as outlined in the Facing Your Fears Facilitator’s Manual (2011). This evidence-based approach equips children with essential coping skills, enabling them to navigate anxiety-provoking situations effectively. Treatment goals focus on helping learner recognize signs of anxious arousal, shift negative self-talk to constructive statements, and practice cognitive and behavioural relaxation strategies. The program also includes practical exercises where learners apply learned skills to real-life scenarios. In addition, we guide parents to support their learners progress, promoting confidence and resilience both at home and in the community.
